About Saunaman Timo Lahdekorpi, an avid sauna aficionado for more than a half century, grew up in Finland and in 1980 made Durango, CO his home with his family. In 1995 Timo became known to local Southwest Colorado homebuilders and others as the “Saunaman” when he started building saunas for customers in Durango and Telluride. Although building saunas for many years, today Timo focuses on designing and selling authentic Finnish saunas manufactured by Finnleo-Saunatec. Thanks to the Internet, Timo’s services have spread across the nation and beyond. Per capita, he has sold more Finnleo saunas than any other dealer in the country. (Low overhead keeps his prices amongst the lowest in the nation.) Locally, Timo now works with an experienced sauna builder or he can assist you with your project. What is a Sauna? By definition, a sauna (Finnish word) is a room lined with soft wood and heated by rocks (and steam). Both temperature, 160F to 240F, and humidity, 15% to 50%, are controlled by the participants. “Dry saunas” are American versions. Although you can buy “infrared saunas” from the Saunaman, these are not really saunas. They are called “saunas” mainly for marketing purposes. Infrareds do, however, share some sauna benefits, and have their merits, but unfortunately many Internet marketers make outrageous false claims about them …… and many buyers unknowingly take their word as truth. . |

Unfortunately, the factory (Finnleo-Saunatec) does not allow any of their dealers to display pricing on the web, so please contact us for current pricing. Shipping We ship anywhere, but most items are actually shipped factory direct within 24 hours of order via United Parcel Service. Larger items such as sauna kits, commercial electric and wood burning sauna heaters must ship by common carrier. There is typically several weeks lead time (varies by seasonal demand) to ship sauna kits. Infrareds may ship even sooner. Notice how the hinged backrest and hinged bench fold up and out of the way. Just remove the three piece platform and you are ready to shower or bathe. You can build this sauna yourself utilizing local materials (Rocky Mountain Aspen pictured), add a heater and few accessories (from the Saunaman) and you have a real functioning sauna for one to two people. |

Note that just a single wall and ceiling was added to this enclosed bathtub. Another beauty of this design is that you can even take this sauna with you if you move because all tile work was left intact. Should you not be handy with carpentry and want the Saunaman (or his carpenter) to build you a bathtub sauna, that is certainly an option. If you live outside the Four Corners area, the wall and ceiling can be built to fit your own bathtub enclosure and shipped via UPS right to your home. Wood choices include Aspen (in both clear and with variations in color), Nordic White Spruce, Clear Pine and Clear Western Red Cedar. Heater choices include Finnleo 2.1 kW (120 v.) and 3.0 kW (240 v.) units with heater mounted or outside mounted controls (pictured).
